Orando ResidenceThis unbuilt project in the Washington high desert was to be a family weekend retreat overlooking the Columbia River. The house is composed of 3 volumes: the living areas; the garage; and the entry/stair tower.
The first floor was designed for wheelchair use, with appropriate clearances, grab bars where needed and a durable smooth flooring. The second floor was designed to allow for flexible accommodation of children and guests. The southern facade of this home overlooks the pool, and is filled with windows. In the summer, canopies and brises soleils provide shade while allowing winter light to stream in. River views to the west are highlighted from the pool deck, living room, rear entry seats, and rooftop deck over the garage |
